Beginner's Introductory Course in Organic Agriculture
Entrepreneurship Development Initiative In Joint Collaboration with National Productivity Council, New Delhi

To Meet Ever Increasing Need for Appropriately Trained Human Resource for Agribusiness Enterprises Morarka conceptualised a short term primary level structured learning course that came to be known as Biginner's Introductory Course in Organic Agriculture BICOA.

To meet ever increasing demand for organic/quality food in India as well as abroad, Morarka Foundation has been assisting farmers and entrepreneurs to convert their basic farming operations to agribusinesses.

India enjoy many competitive advantages in many primary production activities in agriculture. In recent times, private sector has also been showing increasing willingness to enter into agribusiness. This has now created huge demand for appropriately trained human resource in the production, processing and marketing of organic/quality food at grass root level of operations as social entrepreneurs.

Agriculture to Agribusiness potential has never been recognized by the present agricultural education system and thus no formal/informal training facilities are available in the country.

To meet this gap Morarka Foundation has designed this suitable training program for structured learning and to upgrade the skills of conventional practitioners of agriculture i.e. for the young generation of farming families. Under this Course TWO batches each of 30 candidates were initiated. After the completion, some of the enterprising candidates went on to set up their small enterprises, some took up junior entry level jobs. While few of them used this qualification to seek Government Jobs also.

After Two batches since NPC refused to extend their recognition, this course was also stopped.

As a mark of confidence, Morarka also paid back a major portion of the fees charged from these boys and girls back to them.
